Zero-Energy Permanently Affordable Homeownership in Renton

The Homestead Community Land Trust begun construction on Willowcrest in Renton. It is a multi-unit homeownership project designed to be affordable to low- and moderate-income households while also reducing utilities costs and climate impacts through ultra-high energy efficiency and the elimination of fossil fuels – the first of its kind in King County. The project land was provided by the Renton Housing Authority. The homes will be priced below $315,000 and all subsequent purchases and sales of the homes will be for low to moderate income families. Willowcrest is also an example of transit oriented development building near high capacity public transit areas.
