Renton is about to get even more colorful as ‘chalk your walk’ messages are being created in neighborhoods throughout the city with the goal of lifting spirits amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Communities are coming together to make a positive impact. Driveways and sidewalks are being covered in chalk, spreading positive messages, thanking hospital staff and first responders, and encouraging others to stay home, and stay safe.
As Renton resident, Kat Lieu illustrates, This is a great homeschooling activity.” Kat has been teaching her kindergarten student how to make beautiful stained glass sidewalk chalk art that looks like a painted mural using regular outdoor paint, painter’s tape, a paintbrush, and water. Watch her process from start to finish in this time-lapse video.
