The City of Renton has teamed up with local coffee shops and drive-throughs to launch the Bring Your Own Cup campaign, a fun and eco-friendly way to reduce waste from single-use cups. Whether you’re strolling through downtown, cruising to your favorite drive-through, or discovering a new café, bringing your own reusable cup (or using a mug provided by the shop) is a simple way to make a big impact. There are plenty of great reasons to bring your own cup! Reusable cups are significantly better for the environment. Over their lifecycle, they create fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to their disposable counterparts. By making the switch to reusables, you’re also helping to reduce litter on our streets, in storm drains, and in our local rivers and lakes. And when it comes to safety, there’s no need to worry—reusable cups are allowed under Washington State’s Retail Food Code. Businesses can safely fill your clean personal cup!
