Founded by the shop’s owner and operator Derek Simonsen, Repairs for Renton is the program he is most proud to provide the community. It came from a simple but powerful belief: everyone in Renton deserves access to safe, reliable transportation — especially in tough times. This ongoing program provides free car repairs to residents facing financial hardship. In 2024, this program provided over $5,000 of work for the community!

To qualify for the program, applicants must:
- Live in Renton
- Show proof of financial hardship
- Have a valid driver’s license
- Own the vehicle in need of repair
Residents can apply either in-person at the shop or by filling out the application form available on South Lake European’s website.
