Renton Rewind 2025: Your Year in Review

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re grateful for the incredible community that helps make Renton such a special place.

Renton By the Numbers

Renton’s growth showed up in the stats this year. The city welcomed new residents as the population edged closer to 110,000, while more than 3,500 local businesses kept the economy humming. Parks and recreation programs drew over many visitors, and we saw steady foot traffic to community events returned in full force. With major infrastructure projects underway and transit use climbing, Renton continued to balance small‑city warmth with big‑city momentum.

Events & Visit Renton

Renton had a full calendar this year, and the city’s energy showed up in every festival, market, and waterfront gathering. Renton River Days brought families for parades, food trucks, and live music, while summer nights at Gene Coulon Beach filled our days with concerts, outdoor movies, and sunset strolls. The weekly farmers market continued to be a community favorite, drawing locals and visitors for fresh produce, handmade goods, and that unmistakable neighborhood vibe.

For visitors, Renton offered a mix of natural beauty and urban convenience. The Cedar River Trail stayed busy with walkers and cyclists, and the Landing remained a go‑to spot for dining, shopping, and entertainment. Whether people came for a weekend getaway, a lakeside afternoon, or a taste of local culture, Renton delivered a warm welcome and plenty to explore.

Top Moments

Renton had no shortage of standout moments this year.  We began to share Renton in full force with collaboration posts, a featured Zip Trip, reusable cups and getting to pipe macarons with Michael owner of Macadons. The lively Renton River Days parade, Dragon Days and more fun events kept us busy all year! The Landing and Downtown stayed busy with new restaurant openings and family‑friendly events, continuing to be some of the best gathering spaces for the Renton community.

Placer data shows that Ikea and Top Golf are top visited places for 2025! Renton is lucky to have those only WA locations making us continue to standout in the region. Our shopping centers are popular thanks to unique small businesses filling our storefronts.

Nature lovers flocked to the Cedar River Trail and Lake Washington, turning the waterfront into one of Renton’s most photographed places. Downtown also saw a surge in foot traffic as local shops, cafés, and public art installations created a fresh sense of place. Whether people came for waterfront sunsets, cultural celebrations, or a simple stroll through the city’s evolving neighborhoods, Renton delivered memorable moments all year long.
